The 24

To Celebrate our pioneer heritage, we went up to Island Park to Gretchen's Cabin. What a great way to celebrate! It was so beautiful there, and so ready for us. We spent a lot of time on the lake water skiing, but had some fun going to West Yellowstone, and the Elk Creek Gas Station. The best part about the weekend was the company. What fun friends to hang out with, and feel at home with, and just enjoy each other. Following are some of the highlights.

Thanks.

4th of July

I enjoyed some good times with friends this weekend. Kathrine invited me up to the cabin with a few others to celebrate the weekend. It sure was a blast. So much happened in such a short time. We started the day off with the desire to float the Provo River. So did the rest of Utah County. We had some floatation devices, but not enough for all of our lovely group, but in the end, most of us got to experience the ride. We did have a floating island in the beginning, but after the first bridge, which tore a whole in the island, we sunk, and hurried to dry land from the freezing water. People doubled up on tubes, and all of us eventually found our way to the bottom.

After a day on the river it was time to relax, and just have some fun. Games are a great way to do that, so we played some. It was crazy. Pretty soon we were all making up rules, pulling faces and just having a blast. I love playing games.

After dinner and games we decided to try to find the fireworks. We split up into two groups and eventually all found spots where we could see the fireworks from Park City. We actually found places at some of the neighbors to watch. Good thing they weren't home. We were sure we were going to get caught. After the fireworks we returned to the cabin, and as usual, music began to play, and a dance party began. Everyone was showing off their moves, and teaching others how to get their groove on. I just love the bonding. It was a good weekend. Thanks Kathrine!

Long Time

It's been a long time since I last posted. I still don't have much to say, except thanks to my friends who made July a good month. On July 4th I celebrated 8 years home from the mission. It seems that it was a lifetime ago. I should break out the old pictures and refresh myself on what life was like back then.

The Giver

So, I just finished reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It was interesting. Right from the beginning I could see where the book was going with all it's "sameness". But the end, well, it left me for wanting. I know I have my own conclusions about the end, but wondered if anyone else had read the book, and what your take on the ending might have been. Anyone care to share?
